NEW Release
The Witchness Protection Programme
A spicy cozy fantasy full of heart, humour, and horniness.
I’m Tessa Scarlett,
a healing witch who has found herself in the most annoying and unlikely of circumstances: being forced to leave my life behind because of what I witnessed the king’s men doing one day in an alley.
Now, I’m in a village next to dragon territory, suppressing my magic and changing my face with a daily potion.
But it might not be all bad. I’ve bought a secondhand bookstore that gives me a chance to fulfil a long-forgotten dream and will hopefully win over all the tight-knit villagers. Unfortunately, Books, Brews, & Booze needs a lot of work before it can open.
Enter the tall cocky, dark flirtatious, and handsome handyman.
Adalwolf Wright.
Wolf is capable and flirty, with his own secret past that I’m far too curious about.
I have to maintain my new identity, but an injured baby dragon and strong forearms are trying to thwart my efforts.
Is it possible to truly start over, or will I be running from the king’s reach forever?
The Witchness Protection Programme is the start of a humorous, spicy, cozy fantasy series with a curvy main character over thirty.
The Tarakona Chronicles
a spicy, soft enemies-to-lovers romantasy full of dragons, mystery, and magic
for lovers of Rebecca Yarros, Jennifer L. Armentrout, and Sarah J Maas
Twenty years ago Tarakona was saved from the ravages of war when every magic user agreed to
surrender their talents to the royal family.
Powerful users, like Rhea Coronos’s mother, were
rewarded for their sacrifice with not only peace, but senior positions in the castle for them and their
children.
Determined to have a life beyond lady-in-waiting to Princess Briar, Rhea accepts a challenge. All she
has to do is find a suitable dragon for Briar’s coming of age and Briar will approve her marriage to
the dashing Count Romano.
Her life will finally be what she wants it to be.
But when she meets the irreverent dragon trainer Garrett Thorne, her world begins to crumble.
Something in her has awakened and is drawn to him.
And something is making her mother — and so many others in the castle — very ill.
Things are not what they seem. Maybe they never were.
Rhea has lost everything.
The Great Sickness claimed her mother, her brother has been sent away, and the man she was falling for betrayed her. Now, with the kingdom on the brink of war, she bows to the blood magic controlled by her new fiancé, Crown Prince Torrin.
With no choice but to comply as he forces her to explore the depths of her newly-discovered magic, Rhea’s power grows with each mind she rips into. All the while, her mother’s cry for balance rings in her head.
Thorne and his friends are the most wanted men in Tarakona. Travelling as fugitives, the network orders that they begin to find others like himself and Rhea, who have magic when no one else does. The same mages the Crown is hunting.
For his entire life, Thorne has been fighting to return the magic the Youngbloods stole to the people of Tarakona. But now all he can focus on is fixing the worst mistake of his life.
He will go back for Rhea.
Rhea was almost free.
Snatched from Prince Torrin’s castle, she’s now a captive of Tarakona’s enemy – the Fenuaheran military. She's not just a prisoner, she's a weapon to hone. The military, uniquely, has the means to train her: Captain Alaric Fuller, another First Bloodline Anamali. Tall, golden-haired, and smug, he can teach her how to defeat the magic-stealing Youngbloods.
Thorne is torn between his loyalty to Rhea and his newfound family, who just so happens to be her captor. Without his magic, he is rediscovering who he is – until the coughing starts. The sickness that should take him in twenty years has arrived early.
With war upon them, Rhea has to face new facets of her power, including the dark magic that lies within her. But the more powerful she is, the more effective she is as a weapon. Can she gain enough control to save Thorne and return magic to Tarakona before Fenuaheray destroys her?breaks her.
Cities of Cloud and Earth Trilogy
a steamy, forbidden love, dystopian, slow-burn romance series
for lovers of Sarah J Maas, Victoria Aveyard, Suzanne Collins, and Veronica Roth
Naelani is a 5th Classer, her place in society forever on display thanks to the red tattoo around her wrist.
It means that, like every 5th Classer, her world is small and predictable: dating her childhood friend and working as a servant for a 2nd Class couple on the cloud city Nebula each day to make sure there’s food on her family’s table.
Until a refugee Prince from another city appears in her employers’ apartment, hiding from the assassins who killed his parents. Now, her life is getting much bigger: dragged into a world of lies, family secrets, and a potential government conspiracy. Not to mention a pair of honey-brown eyes that she tries to evade. Because a 5th Classer could never be with a 1st Classer, no matter how attracted they are to each other. No matter how enticing his idea of creating a classless city is.
Naelani is on the run.
Towards Antonius, her father, and a new life.
Finding herself unexpectedly useful to Collective leadership as they travel across the continent gathering followers, Nae’s new position forces her to face some hard truths about the man she loves, her mother’s lies, and the real cost of rebellion.
Is having hope for a better life really worth the blood and betrayal? Perhaps her mother was right all along — keeping her head down never got her heart broken or her friends killed.
Because it’s time to take back Antonius’ throne, even if that means war and losing him to another woman.
Naelani has to decide: will she choose to live her life as a heartbroken child, or become the woman who fights for the future she wants?
Prince Antonius and the Collective have gathered their allies in Phoenix to begin the reclamation of Mexico City. Nae might not have the stomach for war, but she has no choice not to play her part.
War means making tough decisions. It means sacrifice and violence. It means working alongside Antonius and his betrothed, trying to fight the pull of his love.
As their army moves from Phoenix to Mexico City, Naelani learns how much they’re all truly willing to sacrifice for victory. And how hard she’s willing to fight for the future she wants, even if it breaks her.
What readers are saying
On Cities of Cloud and Earth trilogy:
“If you are looking for an easy reading page-turner and have enjoyed series like The Hunger Games or The Divergent series, this should be your next read. I'm fully invested in the world that A. Jane Dove has created.”
“I don’t usually read romance novels but Fifth Class surprised me! Within the first few chapters, I was completely sucked into the world the author had created and could hardly put the book down until I had finished it all. Growing up I loved series like the Hunger Games and as an adult I love the Handmaid’s Tale… Fifth Class touched on the same thematic issues (sexism, elitism, capitalism) and dystopian America with a sexy twist. The sex scenes were hot but what really kept me turning pages was the well-developed and complex female characters and the political intrigue. Can’t wait to read the next novel in the series!”
“I would love to read a sequel set a couple of years later, not because the story in any way needs it, just because I can't get enough.
It felt like a realistic ending combined with HEA. There was a good balance of realism for her trials she went through (I wont go into detail without spoilers) but I feel like the serious elements of the story were well done and not glossed over.
I look forward to reading this series again, when I can take my time more since I won't be turning pages so frantically to find out what happens next.”
“Compelling characters that made it hard to put down. Can't wait for the next one to come out! This was one hell of a debut novel.”
On The Witchness Protection Programme:
“I absolutely love A. Jane Dove's books and The Witchness Protection Programme is no exception.
Beautifully written, full of intrigue and mystery it keeps you wanting more
I love the cosy small town vibe, the "who-dunnit" aspect and if there is dragons I'm going to read it.
Highly recommend this 5⭐ read”
“What a unique concept! I went into this book completely blind, recommended by a friend. I was surprised at the little bits of intense spice hidden in what is mostly a super cute and cozy story.
Written to perfection, descriptive, and with some side characters to fall in love with, this really is a feel good story.”
“Ahhhhhh! I loved this! I was sold well before I even started this - with a secret identity, a bookstore, witches and dragons!
I began reading not knowing why Scarlett was hiding her identity, and I think this really helped me connect to her as a character. I wasn't focused on her backstory, instead I was focused on her in the present as she prepared the bookstore to become the bookstore of her dreams, coffee and alcohol bar included 😉 And let me tell you about the setting! Not only does she own a bookstore, she has moved to a small town where everyone knows each other, there's a mysterious dragon based religion (.. cough cough it's definitely a cult cough cough they're getting high together at midnight cough cough...) and the men? Lemme tell you I wasn't just eyeing Wolf! 🥵
This was the cosiest of books, and while I loved reading it on the beach, I definitely need a reread with a stormy evening, a cup of tea and some fairy lights.
5⭐, no notes except that I want the sequel to have even more baby dragons PLEASE”
On The Tarakona Chronicles trilogy:
“This was a slow burn, enemies to lovers fantasy story, that was able to draw me into a world of magic, kings and queens, and dragons, don't forget the dragons.
The world building, through descriptive writing, transported me there, I want to choose a dragon!.
Rhea and Thornes' relationship is a tug-of-war will they wont they, and the spice just enough to fit the storyline and enhancing the characters. But Thorne definitely needs a kick in the .....
My only issue was that it ended... I need more. The world of Tarakona can certainly be extended through characters, sub plots, and righting the wrongs of a select few.”
“This was a welcome surprise after being on my tbr for about a year.
This was my first read from A. Jane Dove and I was pleasantly surprised with her writing, I loved how there was just enough to pull you in without it being too much and the names of places and beasts that though spelt differently I believe are a nod to māori culture which I found fitting and enjoyed knowing she is also a fellow kiwi.
Not only did it meet the expectations you gather from the title there is a whole host of other things to enjoy.
💜 Magic
💜 Dragons
💜 Political intrigue
💜 Secrets
💜 Enemies to potential lovers in later books?????
💜 Betrayal
That cliffhanger though has me needing to start these second one.....hopefully it doesn't sit on the shelf too long.”
“An absolutely incredible conclusion to this trilogy with a romance plot line that doesn’t stick to the “rules” - plus there’s dragons 💜💜💜”
